Acertain number of plant exteracts are known to stimulate milksecretion in lactaiting women .These extracts injected intravenously to Eweor administered orally induced a marked secretion of Prolactin. Thecompound which proved to be active in the plant exteracts wasPectin.Pectic acid which stimulates Prolactin release in vivo were added.Tothe culture mediumof the GH3/B6 rat pituitary cell line for various Periodof time.Pectic acid stimulated Prolactin secretion after 30 minutes.Thesedata indicate that this compound exert their effect in vivo essentiallythrough a direct action on Prolactin secreting cells.There after GH3/B6were cultured as previously describe,incubated these cells with Pectic acid(2.5-200 microgr/ml).Media were Collected after 15,30,60 min 48,72 hand Prolactin was Mesuerment with Elisa method.TRH was used as acontrol to evaluate the capacity of the cells to respond to a secretorystimulus.The GH3/B6 cells are a good tool to study the mechanisms ofaction Pectic acid on Prolactin secretion
